I can't believe I just read a debut novel!D.B. James did a great job with her storyline and definitely kept me reading!
Without giving too much away, Morgan has lived a not so wonderful life for the past 18 years and is sent to live with her aunt in Alabama.
Her encounter with Harrison Dean Montgomery, the fishing cowboy, is what keeps you reading. Harrison has endured his own hardships but has definitely overcome. I loved their interactions and wit! I also enjoyed the reading the developing relationship between Morgan and her Aunt Savannah as well.
The humor, emotions and references to some popular TV shows was also a plus!
The attraction between Morgan & Harrison was palpable! (The insta-love is questionable, but the chemistry was there! and this is fiction after all ;-)

This debut novel by D.B. James is an awesome new adult romance. I went into the book without knowing really what to expect. It truly was a pleasant surprise. I immediately found the heroine, Morgan, to be riveting and awesome. She is eighteen and ready to take on the world. Or will she even get days past her 18th birthday without losing her mind?
The character strength with Morgan is amazing. It is equally so for Harrison....yes, there is a alpha male literally waiting to find Morgan. These two together drew me into the story. Morgan has things thrown her way that no one should ever have to deal with. It has hardened her against...EVERYTHING and EVERYONE! However, Harrison won't let her block him out.
"This feeling has got to be worth exploring. The hurt we’re bound to feel in the end will be worth it. Worth knowing her. Worth everything."
I could not read fast enough to see how they would help each other. The story evolves as Morgan and Harrison evolve together. I loved them.
I have to give a shout out for Aunt Savannah, Julian, Mac, & Dog. Loved them! This read was amazing..thank you, D.B. James. Congratulations on a great debut novel. I can't wait for more from you, D.B.

I absolutely love this book!! I couldn't put it down. I'm in love with the characters and the way it was written had me completely captivated.
This was an interesting story with a very unique concept. I enjoyed the characters and the twists and turns the author gave me. The writing was solid and fresh.
This book is so much more than just a love story. This debut author pulls you in from the start. I fell in love with Morgan and Harrison. Morgan has to live in Alabama after finding herself in trouble. Little does she know that her life will change forever. She finds love. She finds family. But most of all she finds herself.
Holy crap. One would never guess this c was a debut book. I was hooked from the first few pages which doesn't happen very often. I floved Harrison and Morgan's story. Although they were opposites their relationship worked. I read this book mm in one sitting and couldn't put m it down. An absolute must read. If I could give it 6 stars I would.
It took me a couple of chapters to get into this story but then I was hooked. I felt Morgan's insecurities and Harrison's steadiness. Fell in love with them and would like to read more about their journey--perhaps in another book featuring them or in a companion novel featuring one of the secondary characters. Gentry could be fun to read more about. Keep writing, D.B.
